You are probably familiar with my favorite quote: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” Do you know why, though? Think of all of the people who are dissatisfied with their lives, and seemingly don’t do a thing about it. Why? Too many people hate their jobs, or don’t earn enough money, or just settle for things in life in general. Why?
Is it because they’re afraid of failure, or because they know that once something grabs them, they will run with it and try to perfect it, and it will consume all of their time and energy and focus? Is success really what people are afraid of? I’ve read quite a few times about self-sabotage, how we set ourselves up for failure because we’re afraid of succeeding, or at least afraid that we’ll want to succeed because of the effort it takes.
Today I want to share this quote with you, from Salvador Dali: “Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.” I would love to see everyone work their asses off to become the best in their field, in whatever thing interests them…not perfect, but the best they can be. Do what you love, but do it with heart. You can work every single day at getting better at just one thing and never be the best you can be. There is always room for improvement. So don’t fear perfection…chase after it, and get right on its tail – IRRATIONAL LIVING, LLC(Reblogged)
