Reprogramming Your Brain For Success

I had an interesting realization yesterday. Think about success. What comes to mind? What I figured out is that it’s usually the outcome, the destination. When people hear success we’ve been programmed (by the media, or society, or both) to think of the mansions, the money, the cars, the yachts, the luxurious vacations.

The best definition of success I’ve heard was Earl Nightingale’s: “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” The progression. That is to say, if you’re moving forward, toward your goal, you are successful. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just started moving forward, or if you’ve already come a long way and have almost reached your destination. As long as you are progressing toward your goal, you are successful.

So I believe we need to reprogram our minds to associate the work that goes into reaching the destination with the success. When you do your daily visualizations (thinking about having what you want already), picture yourself doing the work that your specific success will require. This way, your brain will subconsciously link work with success, and I promise, that work will go from being a necessary evil to a necessity, something you can’t breathe without.

You can reprogram your brain like this, and soon you will be enjoying work and looking forward to progress IRRATIONAL LIVING, LLC
