Don’t Look Back Too Often

So you had a plan, and things didn’t turn out like you expected. Welcome to life. Or maybe you didn’t have a plan and now you’re realizing that you ended up somewhere you never expected, and maybe you’re not too happy with where you are. Either way, how do you get back on track?

I read a great quote this morning: “Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” This comes from Carl Bard and it’s true. At any point you can realize that life is your responsibility, and you can take charge of it. It may happen in your early 20s, or your late 60s, but it doesn’t matter. That one simple change can make the rest of your life completely different than anything you’ve experienced so far.

The minute you decide to make the change, to reassess your life and decide to take it in another direction, it’s done. After that, it’s all about following through. You can alter the path you’re on now, or create an entirely new one. Nothing can stop you except your own excuses.

So stop making excuses right now. Make the decision to take that first step and then forget you even have a rear-view mirror – IRRATIONAL LIVING, LLC
