Nigeria – According to Alhaji Salihu Tanko Yakasai, President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure could end in crisis if the All Progressives Congress (APC) fails to respect the opinions of its members in the National Assembly.
A political adviser to former president, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Yakasai said if the party’s crisis is not carefully handled it would affect the relationship between the federal legislature and the executive.
He said the APC should sheath its sword and respect the opinions of its members in order to end the lingering crisis, adding that doing so would ensure peace in the National Assembly.
He noted that over 70 members in the senate did not follow the APC during the election and if the relationship between the senate and presidency is affected, the president cannot redeem his political promises to the electorate.
